Deadline for the Vocational Bursary Scheme extended to 15 November 2025

The Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust (LTCT) has extended the deadline for applications to its new Vocational Bursary Scheme until 15 November 2025

The scheme offers financial support to students taking full-time Level 2, 3, or 4 vocational courses at UK colleges. To be eligible, applicants must have a household income below £30,000 and a parent or carer who works as a grocer, pharmacist, or commercial traveller.

The bursary can be used towards tuition fees, course materials, equipment or other study-related costs, helping to make further education more accessible for families in these trades.

With education costs continuing to rise, this scheme ensures that financial barriers do not prevent young people from pursuing practical, skills-based qualifications. This expansion of the charity’s long-standing support recognises the many educational routes to success — whether through college, university or training for a specific career.

Since its founding in 1983, the Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust has provided more than £28 million in educational support to families connected to the grocery, pharmacy and commercial travelling trades. The introduction of this new bursary marks an important step in extending that support to vocational learners.
